So I've done more crashing of farm days than coordinating, but whatever get's me out there! This time I joined the Oyama clan at Kawailoa Farm: Mary, her daughters Kristen and Rebeka, her son Alec, and his friends Anna and Kiana.
The fields were already prepped with holes in the tarp along the irrigation line. Ted pulled out the plants he had planted all together temporarily because he needed to get them into the ground (from their seedling cups) and we gathered them up. Alec and Kristen dug holes in every other open spot for us to plant the taro into (long beans will go in between them). Anna, Mary, Bekah, and I found the damp spot in each hole to plant, knowing that was where the water was coming from the irrigation. With 5 of us, we did a whole row in about 30 minutes!
Ted was super generous and set us home with bags of okra, beans, mangoes, papayas, eggplant... etc. etc.!
